I have written a little bit during lunch for the past couple of days. I also wrote a few words during the Word War last night. Even better, I got a great idea for the overall plot involving the intrigue Wulf has his hands in. The Triad (and the others in charge of society) are trying to keep magic out of the hands of the commoners. They may believe that their belief system calls for this -- and Wulf can find evidence that the philosophy they follow himself did not believe this. Whether they truly believe this or not, the world has changed anyway, but they are refusing to see that. They control magic by making it illegal to teach commoners to read. (Unfortunately, this could also hold back many changes in society. How could businesses grow without merchants being allowed to know at least a little about writing and numbers?) This ties in wonderfully to the scene where Wulf decides to teach Gorok how to read!
Last night, I bought a blank book made with a dark purple crushed velvet covering with a little metal thingie on the front. Very Goth. Fun store. :-> Maybe I should use that to start writing Wulf's grimoire excerpts! It will be great to see his POV on some scenes. Oh the irony I can create... The perspective on some scenes (even, or especially, the first chapter) will be turned on its head. Hee hee hee.
