Some of what happens next...
After Gorok and Wulf (yeah, and Adiran) stop Sovil, life will go on, even if Gorok now has to worry that Kensin is even angrier. Gorok might start helping out in the infirmary and/or doing physical labor -- both to pay for the food for the snowcats and to avoid going insane with boredom. He will learn that Wulf works in the infirmary one week out of the month and then goes back to searching for archives. (This is how things are balanced out.) Gorok will have to worry about taking care of himself when Wulf isn't around, or perhaps they can get permission for Gorok to accompany him as a helper, whatever. (There is precedent, such as mages who brought slaves or very
loyal servants along, so I will mention that earlier.)
I would like to do a chapter where Gorok and Wulf go into the woods to look for herbs, let the snowcats frisk around, let themselves
frisk around, etc. When they come back, they learn that there has been a case of food poisoning (or was it deliberate?), and they have to pitch in to help the poor mage who was doing temporary duty in the infirmary. Some of the mages learn to respect Gorok because he was kind and gentle even as they threw up on him. Yes, that could be weird -- but fun in a weird way.
