Gorok and Wulf Update

I asked a very vague and general question about what to do with the G&W sequel at the Forward Motion Think Tank (the Sunday one, I knew this was one Beard would like to help with). Though the question was very vague, I got some great ideas. It also reminded me of some of the thingies I'd wanted to add to the sequel.

Maybe I'll have to outline this one instead of trying to write it from the start. Oh, well, I might as well either write an outline or write one of my patented "long short stories that are really novel outlines." At least I can write those by hand in my little notebook (you know, with a pen), which I've been carrying ever since I had problems with my bloody Palm again.

Speaking of which...

More Bloody Palm News

My Palm will be heading to the "Palm hospital" today. I had been having even more problems with it -- the battery problem was back, and the power button got stuck. I called the extended service plan company and talked to them for half an hour before they finally agreed that it needed to be serviced. Let's see, the Palm loses all data every time I change the batteries; the power button is stuck; and the Palm no longer came on after the latest battery change, probably because you need the power button to hard reset it, and I wouldn't need to hard reset it if the battery changes were working properly. And after all that, it still took them half an hour to agree it should be serviced under the extended "service" plan that was paid for. Sigh.

I'm sick of calling those numbers and getting the same "You must be an idiot" questions, like what kind of batteries I used and whether or not I realized (duuuuh) that I only had a minute in which to change the batteries. Though it's still annoying, I can understand asking if I happened to spill any liquids on the Palm. But having to repeat the basic stuff (which I already responded to on my original phone call to them) gets really annoying.

I will definitely get my next Palm from another store, one with a better extended service plan. One with a decent replacement option. It's worth the extra money.
