I replaced the chapter where Brodin's brother dies in an ambush by bandits with one where Brodin spends the day mourning the anniversary of the Battle of Fern Hollow. It ended up saying something about the way he chose to mourn. This chapter also included the sad sexual encounter with Guy. Guy is an ambitious git -- but I hope to make him a teensy bit more sympathetic. (He'll be a better character that way, and people won't wonder why Brodin didn't just kick him out.)
Brodin's next chapter involves all the ghosts of the palace showing up at his castle. Yes, including the ghost of his cousin, the king. What happens next? I don't know yet, but with all those ghosts there, something will happen. At the very least, Blackwood's ghost will probably be able to get Brodin to agree to fight the evil Prince Ashe.
Hmmmm. Instead of Moonstone coming to the castle, should Brodin go to the palace, ready for battle? But I don't know about that, it wouldn't give Guy the chance to betray them by letting the enemy into the palace. Besides, riding on the palace with a relatively small force wouldn't be a good idea!
