Moonstone and Rowena Update
Although I had outlined the scenes where Moonstone and Rowena escaped through the forest, I had never really gotten a "handle" on them. Then, the other day, I was thinking, "Wait a minute. They're leaving a major city -- the capital! They're going to a castle in the same land. There must be a better way to get to Brodin's castle than to go through a forest. Otherwise, Brodin would have a hard time getting supplies!" And that's when I decided there should be a waterway between the capital and the castle, with of course other cities, towns, and villages along the way. So now, instead of fleeing through a forest, Moonstone and Rowena will be forced to hide in plain site on a barge or other trading vessel. For a twist, I think that this time, Moonstone will no longer have to go in disguise as a woman (phew!), but Rowena may have to go in disguise as a man!
All right, so now I won't be able to write "Moonstone and Rowena, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G." But that's OK, I just got that out of my system anyway. ;-)
I'm getting even more psyched about my upcoming ATBF column (yes, the whole column!) on paranormal romances. After reading my original draft, Laurie decided this topic deserves more space, more depth, and yes, a whole column. It's going to include bells, whistles, and author interviews.
What's interesting is that as I look at the lists of paranormal authors, I say "OK, I have one of her books. Whoops, make that three. Hmm, been meaning to buy her stories. I just bought that one, darn, where did I put it?" Even better now, I have an excuse to go out and buy more books. Yay!
But where did
I put Lish Cach's Come to Me
? Oh, blush. I really wanted to read that one. That's probably why I can't find it. It's in a bookbag or something.
